MBT's first Easter....kind of

Although this really wasn't Marybeth's first Easter it was the first one she really enjoyed as an important part of our family
Marybeth attended most of the Masses at our church during the Easter Triduum.  She was a trooper the whole time, especially the Easter Vigil on Saturday Evening since it was almost a 2 hour Mass.  Marybeth also participated in her very first Easter egg hunt at Grandma's house.  Easter morning we did have a hunt here at the house for the kids but she wasn't interested in doing it. She got a few toys and a new set of mats that have different textures on one side. She was much more interested in those and her new Word World and Puppy Party movies to be interested in silly old eggs.  However, she did seem to be more interested in taking part in the egg hunt at Grandma's house on Sunday afternoon. So after a belly full of yummy ham, we went out and looked for eggs. Now granted she didn't do the walking, I had to carry her, she was all excited about seeing the eggs in the trees and bushes and picking them up herself and dropping them into the bag.  Once that big excitement was over we just made the bag disappear for a while. Last thing I needed was her to decide that chocolate really was a good choice for a main meal.  Speaking of which, Marybeth has finally decided that food is good.  She doesn't fight me all the time when I want her to eat and she has decided that most foods I want her to eat really aren't all that bad. Her favorite is still yogurt, preferably vanilla, but she loves ham, steak (as long as I put A1 on it, and now even likes salsa.  Thankfully she is finding that most of the foods we eat are good enough for her but she absolutely needs flavor in her foods. I think we may have found that she is the only child in the house with a taste for spicy things. We'll see.
She is growing more and more each day.  She still refuses to walk on her own yet but we're working on that. She finally agreed to do a little signing for us and is realizing that no doesn't mean yes. She really does have to move her head in the other direction for that one.  Oh well. One way or another she finds ways to let us know exactly what is on her mind.  I am sure we are in for many months of enjoyable "conflicts" too.  I can't wait!  Watching her blossom is by far one of the most exciting things I can ever remember doing. Seeing things and experiencing them from her eyes and point of view is just so amazing.  Wouldn't it be great if all it took was cheering and clapping for regular everyday people to do the right things.
